Why did the United’s states drop the atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima?

so basically the American president *Harry S. Truman warned the Americans to not go and invalid or even attempt to invade Japan, or it would result in many deaths. So on August 6, 1945 the American bomber (Enola Gay) dropped a five ton bomb over the city of hiroshima
