We watch the wind and rain from the doorway. There are strong gusts now. At 5:30 p. m. we lose our power and have to depend on our battery-powered radio for information about the hurricane. It's getting dark, and we light candles and put them in the fireplace behind the screen, knowing that the storm will grow stronger. We try to keep our flashlights with us, but I misplace mine sometimes and have to find it.
