This war was nearly inevitable because of the bad blood between America and Mexico. By 1846, the war was nearly inevitable between the USA and Mexico. On the Mexican side, the lingering resentment over the loss of Texas was intolerable. texas was a big industry for materials, and trade. So neither Mexico or america wanted to lose that land, so the war was just not preventable.
