Describe two features of the medical facilities at Thompson’s Cave.

It was sometimes called Thompson Cave after the RAMC officer who was responsible for equipping it. There were waiting rooms for the wounded and 700 spaces were stretchers could be placed as bed. Unlike normal Dressing Stations, it was supplied with water and electricity and had its own mortuary.
