On June 1, 1750, during the reign of King George II, the colonial government in Williamsburg granted William Jackson 270 acres. On July 14, 1769, during the reign of George III, colonial officials processed a 93-acre grant to Richard Morris. The current owners of the land spent $30,000 to trace their title back to those grants.
