DO YOU THINK THAT THE ALIEN AND SEDITION ACTS WERE UNCONSTITUTIONAL? WHY?

First off, it wasn't a power that was delegated to the Federal Government in the Constitution. No where does it say in the Constitution they have the right to deport people. It doesn't say they can curtail certain speech.

These are clear violations of the 1st and 10th Amendments. This was an outrageous act by John Adams and his administration.

This is why the States have a right to secede from a tyrannical federal government. States joined the union voluntarily, and therefore can quit the union as well. Some states took exception to this Dictatorial power by adams. They passed nullification resolutions to protect the citizens of their republics.

Remember, states have sovereign powers over the Federal government. Power delegates from the people up, not from the fed's down:
