The dashboard in the old Chrysler seemed designed to make Father slower than he already is. It has buttons instead of the handle other cars use for shifting gears. Father leans forward to push the reverse button, then backs out of the driveway. He does it all so slowly, watching him makes me want to jump out of my skin.
