1.Aurangzeb tried to improve the government during his reign by implementing civil law based on Islamic Sharia laws to govern. Taking some measures to give relief to people he abolished toll taxes. He banned music ,dance and alcohol.

2.Marathas were the only one who succeeded in raising their own kingdom against the mighty Mughal Emperors of Delhi and kept it intact through the course of time though there were times when those northern rulers captured-sometimes killed-their leaders in efforts to neutralize Marathas.

Shahjahan also continued the policy of conquests of Deccan states and succeeded in annexing Ahmadnagar and the kingdoms of Golkanda and Bijapur accept the suzerainty of Mughals and paid tributes to them. Aurangzeb further annexed Golkanda and Bijapur to his Empire.

6.He was quite possibly the richest man of his day and boasted a treasury overflowing with gems, pearls, and gold, including the spectacular Kohinoor diamond. But these accomplishments failed to assuage his angst about his political deficiencies in his final days.
