European's rule in their colonies was different from ruling their nations for several reasons. The colonies were established to generate wealth for their motherland. The Natives were considered to be inferior because of their culture and religion. European saw themselves as superior in a society where they have taken the burden to govern people outside Europe whom they considered barbarians. There were no equality in colonies as they were the subjects of Europeans.
