what did Common Sense mean to Thomas Paine?

"Common Sense" allowed Thomas to set forth his arguments in favor of American Independence.

Why was it so?

“Common Sense” advocated independence for the American colonies from Britain. He used pamphlets because in the 16th century, they were an important medium for the spread of ideas.

3 pieces of evidence:

"Male and female are the distinctions of nature, good and bad, the distinctions of heaven; but how a man too timorous to be wealthy."

"But there is another and greater distinction, for which no natural or religious reason can be assigned, and that is, the distinction of men into KINGS and SUBJECTS."
