What happened to the Soviet satellite states after the Cold War ended?

The Soviets remained in these countries after the war's end. Through a series of coalition governments including Communist parties, and then a forced liquidation of coalition members disliked by the Soviets, Stalinist systems were established in each country.

i believe the answer is the last option, the magyars preferred to invade by land.
