Was the Indian Removal Act an undemocratic or a democratic act?

The Indian Removal Act was passed by Andrew Jackson on May 26, 1830 to gain land for settlers to expand. American forces came and marched over 125,000 Native Americans west of the Mississippi River to make room for frontiersmen to come and settle the land.  The act was passed mostly because of the United States' greed to gain more land for themselves. Any Native American tribe east of the Mississippi River was promptly confronted by American troops and were forced to march westward. The Indians tried to fight to keep their land, but it was no use. Some tribes even adopted their own new form of government to fight in court for their land.  To try to keep peaceful relations between the Natives and the settlers, Fort Gibson as the main operations center for peace. The soldiers who lived at Fort Gibson would build roads, escort delegates, and make boundaries. Fortunately, there was never a violent incident between the soldiers at Fort Gibson and the Native Americans.
