How did manifest destiny,
crisis, and secession lead
to Civil War?

During the manifest destiny all this new territory was being claimed and their was a big debate on how they were going to determine if a new state would be free or a slave state. Northerns did not want slavery and the south did eventually north carolina decided to sucede from the nation claiming that the constitution was like a contract and the usa broke it and so it justified the means of them leaving. this made everyone upset and the confederates made first move on fort sumter starting the civil war
