By the end of WWII, Why is the balance power has shifted away from Europe? Why did the United States and Soviet Union became world powers?

Because after WWII Europe's main power was Great Britain and France. And so when WWII was over Europe was to weak to keep policing the world so the responsibility shifted to the US. The reason that the US and the Soviet Union became the Worlds superpowers because they where the most technical logical and more advanced then the rest of the world.

This is the answer because after we fought and won WWII the European powers were to weak to control the world after the war. And when the responsibility shifted to the US and the Soviet Union it started the arms race and also it created the space race to see who can have the most power.
