Do you think being disloyal to one's government is a crime? Why or why not?

It is an opinion so it's hard to answer if it's supposed to be in your point of view its a subjective question that could be argued either way. But Thomas Scott was very disloyal to his country. He betrayed many people while he joined Canada and when he did he changed many rules. And had very few friends.
