70 years ago the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the target of two atomic bombs dropped by the United States that caused enormous devastation and destruction. As a direct result of the accident, 31 people died. But the long-term effects of radiation, such as cancer between generations, continue to be investigated. After the accident, an Exclusion Zone of 30 kilometers was decreed around the nuclear plant, which covers an area of approximately 2,600 km2 in the Ukraine, where radioactive contamination remains and where access is restricted.
