What was the scandal that rocked richard nixon's administration?

The Scandal was called the "Watergate Scandal", which even though Nixon himself "supposively" didn't approve it, it was still carried out. The "Watergate Scandal" was when a couple of men broke into the Watergate compartment to find information and documents that could help them defeat the Democrats. They were caught however, and videotapes were found that the president knew about it but didn't stop it. This led to the eventual downfall to his support and he left the office soon after
