When India gained independence in 1947, PAKISTAN gained its own independence from India.

I think that Pakistan was a part of British India and when the British gave India its independence, Pakistan also gained its independence from India. 

The Pakistan Movement was a religious political movement that aims to establish a nation-state that protects the identity and religion of Muslims in the area. They wanted to separate themselves from India because of religious conflicting interests.
