Why was george washington chosen to lead the continental army?

George Washington was chosen as the commander in chief of the continental army on June 19,1775. He was from colony of Virginia and  was elected over other candidates because of his previous military experience. they hoped that he could unite the colonies. He too command of continental army on July 3, 1775 and resigned after eight years.

i don't see how you want other people to do your work for you and it is like you are just handing your assignment to anybody else and having them deal with it instead of your self i thought this site was for asking questions and somebody could you on it not just handing your work to somebody else to deal with it just saying don't mean to be mean just proving a fact.
