What aspects of confucianism and daoism do you think contributed to their long lasting influence?

To understand why Confucianism and Daoism had such long lasting influences you must really understand their beliefs and foundation. Confucianism focuses on social harmony and respect to elders and tradition something that was and still is very important to the Chinese people. Daoism is more focused on nature and living and differed from Confucianism in that didn't emphasis social order. Confucianism's respect for elders and honoring them and the social order really helped contribute to their long lasting effect. For Daoism the way they honored nature helped them have a long lasting effect.
