Someone, please help me create a summary of this paragraph. With the Kansas-Nebraska Act, Dred Scott's decision, and John Brown’s attack on Harpers Ferry, the North and South had reached the peak of tension. With Abraham Lincoln favored in the election polls, the idea of secession became very prevalent. The South feared Lincoln would abolish slavery, so in 1860 when Lincoln did indeed become president, the South officially announced their secession. The Confederate States of America was born.
