In some states judges are elected, while in other states judges are appointed by the governor. Which do you think is a better system? Why?

Personally, I don't think either side is better, as the entire judicial system is seriously flawed.

Explanation:

The judge really doesn't do that much. Yes, he/she oversees the proceeding, but the judge is not the one who decides whether or not the prosecuted is guilty, it is the jury that does that. The prosecutor selects members of the jury, and they surely select jurors that they think will grant them the desired verdict. Perhaps if the judge picked the jurors, he/she would be more useful, but to be honest, the system is kind of broken.
