For this performance task you will write a one-page research paper about a past natural disaster and explain Earth’s processes that caused it. The natural disaster you decide to report on must be based on plate movements (i. e. earthquake, volcanic eruption, tsunami from earthquake, volcanic mudflows). Your paper will include: • A brief description of the 3 types of convergent plate boundaries (oceanic-oceanic, oceanic-continental, continental-continental). • A description of the natural disaster that occurred including: o What type of natural disaster was this? o Date, time, and location of this natural disaster. o A clear explanation of how this natural disaster occurred. o Type of plate boundary that caused this natural disaster to occur. o Effect on people in the area. o Effect on the environment in the area (plants, animals, Earth surface features). o A description of any new or changed surface features that have occurred because of this natural disaster (i. e. visible faults, landforms, volcanic mountains growing, volcanic mountains decrease in size, etc.). o Any preventative measures that could be taken to help prepare the local public for another natural disaster of this kind. • Citations from sources. 900 point if u do it
