Review the criteria for each section of your newspaper. Create two articles, each about a different key event just preceding the war or during the war. At least one of the articles should be an example of propaganda trying to persuade the public. Your articles must answer the five “W” questions: who, what, why, when, where. Include photos and captions to enhance the articles.

Letter to the Editor

Letter to the editor: include at least two letters of opposing viewpoints regarding the war or issues relating to the war. Each letter should be “from” a key historical figure (reflecting the viewpoints of that person.

Unsung Hero Story

Choose a group or an individual that played a key role during the American Revolution that may not have received the attention they deserved. Describe the key people that were involved and any accomplishments they are remembered for. A few suggested topics: women, Native Americans, African Americans

Include at least two advertisements. These can reflect products and prices of the time, or they can be propaganda regarding the war, or one of each.
