Well i believe slavery was a thing because the whites did not feel like black people were the same as them,They thought as if blacks were dangerous and would harm you,But they just didn't get that we were also human,They looked at us as if we didn't even have lives they locked us away they said we were monkeys and they made us do there dirty work,There's no way to change the past and there's some things of that sort still happening today but they are calming down,I hope this helps you understand why people did slavery <3
