Please help for a brainlist :D One of the most divisive questions separating the early leaders of the Republic was whether the United States should ally itself more closely with Britain or France. What major leaders fell on each side of this debate? What were the problems associated with allying with Britain vs. allying with France and what were the benefits? (Think about things like the XYZ Affair and the Jay Treaty).
