Why would criollos living in Latin America find Enlightenment ideals appealing and inspiring? The criollos were denied political power in their homeland because they had not been born in Spain.
They found out that Napoleon planned to make the criollos more like slaves in their home territories.
Most of them learned about Enlightenment ideals when they attened universities in France and saw the revolution happen.
They were inspired by the national unity brought about by the American and French Revolutions.

1.       there were no slaves in the north and they had more industries. the south had more slaves and they believed in agriculture to be their main economy.

2.       the north wanted to produce the things needed by the people of the south, but the people living in the south wanted finer materials from abroad.

in the modern era also there is a conflict between the people in the north and the south of us. the people in the south votes for the republicans due to their conservative nature while people in the north being more liberal votes for the democrats.
