Why do you think it is important to study what happened during the Holocaust? pls help me

I think it is important to learn what happened during the holocaust so history does not repeat it's self, what made the holocaust the holocaust is because many people chose a dictator to rule them and from that choice millions of innocent people died because they where not ""pure"" or did not look the ideal way. I also think it is important to learn about that tragic event so if we are ever faced with a situation like that again we have a better understanding on how to handle it.

I also use the word learn instead of study because we are learning what happened and how that happened, in my opinion studying implies we are aware why it happened and we seek more information ( I hope iv helped )
