D sounds like the answer but I'm not sure because from what I understand, humans and animals breathe out carbon dioxide and plants take it in and replace it with oxygen and that's the main reason why plants are extremely important to the life of every living thing. But the wording of D sounds weird to me.

However, I think the answer is A because plants use sunlight to make glucose and I just had a lesson about that just a few minutes ago so I feel that's the right answer.
