When President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln and the Republican party recognized the Emancipation Proclamation, It was as a measure of war but he knew that Emancipation Proclamation wont have any constitutional validity when the war came to end. Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer by profession and he was aware of the importance of making sure that Emancipation Proclamation had no loopholes. It was not supposed to be eloquent or touching instead it was intended to be an iron-clad legal document.
