Aprogressive reformer who created one of the earliest welfare settlement dwellings after going to the rockford university. the dwelling was for the poor and new immigrants to take classes and adapt to the new environment.

Jane Addams attended Rockford Female Seminary in 1881. As a child, she saw harsh conditions that were common among those who lived in the poor neighborhoods of Chicago. Once she was an adult, she co-founded Hull House, a settlement home that provided artistic support, social support, and educational support in the community.
