William Graham Sumner, argued that social inequality is the product of the struggles of men who try to overcome in life. He established the principle that society had the responsibility to help only those people who deserved to be helped, since he believed that all men deserved some kind of help to do something for themselves. However, he did not agree with helping the poor who never tried to be successful, since this kind of help does not contribute anything to society. He said that people should only be helped enough so that they can help themselves and start fighting for a better life, he also maintained that social classes will always exist, but that some men just need a little help to be part of a higher class.

(january 15, 1929 - april 4, 1968) was growing up, although slavery had been abolished, there was still open segregation in practice, i.e., white only restrooms and coloured restrooms. one famous incident was when on december 1, 1955, rosa parks refused to give up her seat to a white man on a bus. because of this, she was arrested, but eventually freed.

8: he was a man who spoke out to the entire nation about peace and equality, so therefore doing something for your community, or nation, is a way of honoring him because he did the same. everyone learns about martin luther king jr. he is famous in history books, most especially for his “i have a dream” speech that inspired millions worldwide. he spoke to the entire nation about freedom, equality, and peace for all. he was participation in his community and doing what was right for him and all his community. participating in service projects is a great idea to honor his dream and his memory. even thought it’s not was comes first to mind when thinking about community service projects, it is an amazing way to honor an amazing man who changed the future for the better.

Remember soh-cah-toasoh: $\sin(angle) = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}$ cah: $\cos(angle) = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}$ toa: $\tan(angle) = \frac{opposite}{adjacent}$ now, looking at the picture we can see that we have an angle, the hypotenuse and want to find the value of the adjacent side to the angle. so we use cah to find the adjacent angle. plug in what we have: $\cos(69) = \frac{x}{17}$ we need to solve for x now so we get it by itself on one side: $\cos(69) \times 17 = x$ plug this into your calculator and you'll find that: $x = 6.09$
