After world war 2 what did congress do to the nation transition from a wartime economy to a peacetime economy

Before America decided to enter the war, all it did was provide money and ammunition for the Allies to use. When that changed, men and (some women) enlisted and were to be sent prepare for the war. Dough boys were what they referred to as men who came from farms. Originally, those dough boys were to be trained more when they were sent overseas, however, there was not enough time for them to get around six months' training in.
