What were some of the approaches progressives used to challenge the power and influence of capitalist corporate america?

Progressive presidents like Teddy Roosevelt, used their power to limit the influence of corporations in America. Specifically, Progressives focused on breaking up monopolies and trusts. Monopolies and trusts were seen as negative entities by the Progressive party, as this would result in the elimination of competition. Competition is what helps to keep prices low for the consumer.

Roosevelt helped to bring down several different trusts and monopolies in the US. This was done through several different avenues including the Northern Securities Case, the Sherman Antitrust and Interstate Commerce Act, and roughly 24 indictments against different trusts in the US.
