Understandably, the Teotihuacán was the preceding civilization of the Toltecs, and its archaeological structure and remains were understood to have resembled either a center of religious importance or the political capital of a state or empire. The architectural structure of the city featured a feathered serpent, which was also the main deity worshipped by the inhabitants of the city.
