How did women contribute to the united states' national identity during world war ii?

Women were beginning to work in order to make weapons and run factories while the majority of the men were away fighting. Because of gaining all of these abilities, this led to an increased sense of nationalism. Greater freedoms for women allowed greater pride in one's country. Also with these greater freedoms, new aspects of culture were introduced, such as different clothing styles, further industrialization, etc.
