The answer is "the Modern Era."  While the chronological date as to when the Modern era truly began are up for debate, many historians set the beginning of the modern era as 1500 and lasting through present times.  The Modern era is the post-classical era of technological and social innovation that we can be said to live in now.  Of course, again, the definitive dates of these era are up for debate.  Some historians argue that we live, today, in the Postmodern Era, an era that began during or right after World War II and the invention of the atomic bomb and development of computers.
