1. are individuals honest in personally important situations in which it would be easy
to be dishonest? as one of a series of studies on this problem, an investigator
observed individuals while they took an eye examination for a driver's license. the
experimenter recorded whether they stood in the back of, on, or in front of a line
painted on the floor that was used to indicate the appropriate distance from the eye
chart. the individuals were not informed that they were being observed.
