SOMEONE HELP PLEASE In this lesson, you learned about the topic of jurisdiction of law enforcement agencies. As mentioned in this lesson, there are many federal law enforcement agencies, each with a jurisdiction that applies in particular cases. How would you imagine that the jurisdictions of the different agencies are separated? Do you think they might overlap? In this exercise, you will research a selection of federal law enforcement agencies that are of interest to you and compare and contrast the areas of jurisdiction held by each agency. Directions Identify ten federal law enforcement agencies that are of interest to you. You can consult a list of federal law enforcement agencies on USA. gov, here. Make sure that the agencies you select are federal, not state, agencies. Make a list of the agencies you will be researching and type the list neatly. Conduct research about each agency. The above website will provide you with links to the homepages of the federal agencies listed. For each agency you have chosen to study, type answers to the following questions: What is the full name of the agency? Does the agency have an acronym? If so, what is it? What aspect of federal law enforcement does the agency control? What is the scope and nature of power held by this agency? Does this agency share jurisdiction with any other agency? If so, which ones? When was this agency created? Who created it and why? Has this agency undergone any major reorganizations or structural changes in the past decade? If so, what are they? How does this agency balance private rights of citizens with needs for public safety? Write an essay of 400 words comparing and contrasting at least two of the agencies you studied. Explain how these agencies are similar and how they are different, especially with regard to their jurisdiction. If these agencies share jurisdiction, explain why that is the case. Is this a recent development or have these agencies always shared power? Type the answers to your questions, the information pertaining to each agency, and your essay. Use a standard 12 point font, double space your work, and complete a spelling and grammar check before submitting your work to your instructor.
