Explanation:Why do people lie? Ultimately, there's only one reason: to hide something. People tell lies because they want to hide something. No matter what people are lying about, I believe they are all trying to hide the same exact thing. I believe people lie to hide who they are. They want to pretend they are someone they are not. They want others to think they are someone they are not. They want to pretend to know something they do not. They want others to think they know something they do not.  What determines the words that come out of our mouth? Our character. Who we are on the inside determines what others see and hear on the outside. Will we lie? Or, will we tell the truth? It depends. Do we have something to hide? If we do, we lie. If we don't, we tell the truth. I believe it is that simple. Telling the truth doesn't cost us a thing. However, telling a lie could cost us everything.
