d) Nancy, school nurse treats a student three days in a row for a variety of bruises to different parts of the body. Under state law, people in jobs like Nancy’s who observe such injuries are required to report it to the child protective services who conduct a child abuse investigation of the parents (turns out to be unfounded). Parents want to sue Nancy but cannot because the law that requires Nancy to report her suspicions also protects her from a lawsuit being filed against her if the abuse claim is unfounded.
