Asquare is formed when you plot the points and connect the dots (see figure 1 in the attached images).  if you rotate the square around the vertical y axis, then you get a cylinder. the cylinder has a radius of 4 and a height of 4 (see figure 2). think of a revolving door or a fan. the motion creates the illusion of a 3d solid being formed. the faster the spin, the better the illusion.
