Therefore, $sin(2 \beta )=2( \frac{2 \sqrt{2} }{3})(- \frac{1}{3})=- \frac{4 \sqrt{2} }{9}$ . Now we are ready to fill in our original difference of cosines formula using all the values we found above: $( \frac{ \sqrt{5} }{3})( \frac{7}{9})-( \frac{2}{3})(- \frac{4 \sqrt{2} }{9})$ , which when you do all the simplfying, gives you $\frac{7 \sqrt{5}+8 \sqrt{2} }{27}$ , the last choice listed above.
