Equate 19+3d and 37, then isolate d

19+3d = 37

3d = 37-19

3d = 18

d = 18/3

d = 6

Common difference is 6. Each time we want a new term, we add on 6

So,

seventh term = (sixth term) + d = 37 + d = 37+6 = 43

A shortcut is to use the formula

a_n = a_1 + d(n-1)
