to find slope you have to set the equation to y=

2x-4y=10

+4y   +4y

2x=10+4y

-10  -10

2x-10=4y

/4         /4

1/2x-(10/4)=y

slope equals 1/2

let's add {f(x)=x+1}f(x)=x+1 and {g(x)=2x}g(x)=2x together to make a new function.

f(x)+g(x) =(x+1)+(2x)=x+1+2x=3x+1
