Asubset t of the real numbers that is bounded below must have a greatest lower bound in the real numbers because it can be proved using just the order properties of the real numbers. it can be proved using just the algebraic (field) properties of the real numbers. it can be proved from the least upper bound property using the set 5 of negatives of numbers in t. that is one of the properties (axioms) of the real numbers that we accept without proof.
