But first there is an equation that involves the slope and the line. It's called the linear equation. What is the linear equation? well the equation is y=mx+b. What are these symbols though?

Okay so we now know this but how does that helps us find the slope. Well there's another equation to learn here. To find the slipe we have to divide the difference by the two points we are given (hint hint the points on the graph hint)

So what are the points? they are (-3, 2) and (-1,-1). And what is the equation we need to use? The equation is y₂₋y₁ divided by x₂-x₁. So now look at the two coordinates or points we are given.

(-3, 2) and (-1, -1). They both have an x and y, correct? Correct! But here's the thing. The first coordinnate points will be 1 and the second points would be two. So now we label them

-3= x₁  2= y₁   -1= x₂   -1=y₂    label them

(-1-2) ÷ (-1-(-3)   subtract

(-3) ÷ (-1-(-3)  (REMEMBER THIS!! => (a negative number subtracted by a negative number makes it a positive so... -(-3)= +3) So...

(-1-(-3) equals to (-1+3) which equals to -2

-3/2 equals the slope! So the answer is literally Negative 3 over 2!
