Acontainer firm receives an order for 120 small containers to be used for disaster relief. the containers are going to be dropped from a helicopter 400 ft above the ground. the containers in inventory can withstand an impact speed of 150 ft/sec. should the firm use these containers, or should it make stronger ones? follow the steps (a) determine the velocity function v(t), t seconds after the containers being dropped from the helicopter:v(t) (b) determine the distance function s(t), from the ground, t seconds after the containers being dropped from the helicopter. (that means s(o)-400 s(t)-400-16? (c) the containers hit the ground 5 seconds after being dropped. at that time, the velocity is x feet per second, hence the impact speed is 160 feet per second. since the impact speed is greater than150 feet per second, the company should notuse these containers.
