Wear-out of used display panels. Wear-out failure time of electronic components is often assumed to have a normaldistribution. Can the normal distribution be applied to the wear-out of used manufactured products, such as coloreddisplay panels? A lot of 50 used display panels was purchased by an outlet store. Each panel displays 12 to 18 colorcharacters. Prior to acquisition, the panels had been used for about one«third of their expected lifetimes. The data in theaccompanying table (saved in the file) give the failure times (in years) of the 50 used panels. Use the techniques of thissection to determine whether the used panel wear-out times are approximately normally distributed.0.01 1,21 1.71 230 296 0,19 1.22 1.75 230 298 0.511.24 1.77 241 3.19 0.57 1.48 1.79 244 3.25 0.70 1,541.88 257 3,31 0.73 1.59 1.90 261 1.19 0.75 1.61 1.9362 3.50 0.75 1,61 201 272 3.50 1.11 1.62 216 2763.50 1.16 1.62 218 284 3.50Source: Based on Irony, T, Z., Lauretto, M,, Pereira, C., & Stern, J. Me max recorded the heights of 500 male humans. he found that the heights were normally distributed around a mean of 177 centimeters. which statements about max’s data must be true? a) the median of max’s data is 250 b) more than half of the data points max recorded were 177 centimeters. c) a data point chosen at random is as likely to be above the mean as it is to be below the mean. d) every height within three standard deviations of the mean is equally likely to be chosen if a data point is selected at random.

Astudy was interested in determining if eating milk chocolate lowered someone's cholesterol levels.ten people's cholesterol was measured. then, each of these individuals were told to eat 100g of milk chocolate every day and to eat as they normally did. after two weeks, their cholesterol levels were measured again. is there evidence to support that their cholesterol levels went down? how should we write the alternative hypothesis? (mud = the population mean difference= before - after)a. ha: mud = 0b. ha: mud > 0c. ha: mud < 0d. ha: mud does not equal 0
