How many inches are in one foot?

2. The space between the finger and thumb is 3 1/2 inches. Convert this measurement to feet.

3. The hand in the image is 15 inches in front of the camera. Convert this measurement to feet.

4. Write the ratio of distance from the camera to the hand to the space between the fingers. Use the measurements that were calculated in feet.

5. According to Wikipedia, the tower that houses Big Ben is 315 feet in height. Write a ratio of the distance from the camera to the base of the tower to the height of the tower. *hint – introduce a variable on this step*

6. Setup a proportion to find the distance from the camera to the base of the tower.

7. Solve the proportion from number 6.
